hello sir,
myself sahil thakkar.
i want to know about the DCT transmission in the new creta which is the same in Kia Seltos.
people are complaining about the heating issue of the transmission, will it be the same in creta as they have provided electric brake and auto hold, will that be helpful preventing the heating up of transmission.
and which engine is better 1.4 dct turbo or 1.5 diesel?
my yearly car running is not more than 12000 apx. would prefer more enthusiast and fun loving and peppy engine.
thank you sir

Hi Sahil,

Both Seltos and Creta use the same DCT transmission box. Issues of heating up are due to the very nature of dry clutch box used to keep costs low compared to Germans who use wet clutch (VW Group, Merc, BMW) and cannot be resolved by electric brake and auto hold. They have no relevance. That said, while is city bumper to bumper traffic sometimes and specially if driven incorrectly then this gearbox may cause issues. Otherwise its not as big of an issue as made out to be. However mileage in city will be bad imo.

In terms of 1.4 Petrol or 1.5 Diesel, Turbo petrol is a lot more powerful engine and fun to drive. Your running also is not as much for diesel. If you don't need an automatic then I suggest manual version of 1.4 which is available in Kia.

Hope this helps, I have a 1.4 DCT and decently happy with it other than mileage.
