Below is the email response which I got from one of the dealers regarding my ask for inappropriate handling charges:

Dear Mr Verma,

Greetings of the day!!

Handling charges are on account of below mentioned expenses incurred by dealership:

Fuel expenses for bringing the vehicles from stockyard to the location for delivery purpose
Fuel expenses for taking vehicle to Registering authority for registration purpose (if required)
Driver cost towards bringing the vehicle to concerned location and to RTO
Fuel provided during delivery of the car
Re-polishing, cleaning, checking of vehicle
Delivery ceremony
Other expenses incurred towards making the car ready for delivery

These charges are within purview of the Supreme court & High court ruling. (Rulings attached)
For any further queries, feel free to contact undersigned.

Thanks and regards

I don't want to pay these additional charges as shared in one of your videos, so please suggest the next step I can take in this matter.

Hello,

I suggest to contact in Territory Sales Manager from OEM Side
May write through customer care

I suggest to refer in
> Attachment 1 - where a consumer shared what TSM of Tata Motors wrote on account of Handling charge and forwarded up reply
> Attachment 2 - Our opinion shared point wise and consumer used that to reply and finally confirmed that that dealer agreed to waive handling charges

May use as base to send and connect with Territory Sales Manager from OEM sie
Also - there are many users who posted that they got waiver of Handling charge in video comments as posted

May check, if pitched correctly with customer care and TSM of OEM - should get these waived
Hope should help !!

I must say the dealers are quite stubborn these days. Try saying them that you have checked out another showroom in your region and they are not charging you the extra money. Also add that you will cancel the deal with them. Maybe they will levy the charges. Also for reference do check out other dealers in your nearby areas and try to negotiate with them too. May be you can get a better deal from there only.
Thanx
