Chassis number has been wrongly entered by KA03 ( Karnataka) in the registration certificate (smart card) and the same was noticed when the NOC was received to shift the vehicle to Chennai for name change and Re Registration . The original invoice with the correct chassis number is available. How to go about with re registration. Can the correction be carried out by Chennai RTO themselves based on physical verification and original invoice. Will be grateful for your clarification.

Try to get form 24 for the vehicle manufaturer. it can be through their offiical mail id or visiting the same showroom that sold the vehicle. If don't know the same showroom then visit any other showroom of same company. form 24 has pancil print of chesis number when they sold it. With that form 24 you can go in RTO for corection.

Hello,

No Chennai RTO wont do same, it has to be done from Karnataka

You have to approach RTO with

> Original Smart Card
> Insurance,
> Chassis Number Imprint along with
> application for correction and
> NOC copies as received
> ID & Address Proof
