I am looking to buy a premium hatchback (petrol, manual) . I stay in Bangalore and will be commuting mostly within the city. I would go on long trips probably once in a quarter.

Should I go for Altroz, I20 or Baleno?

Please suggest considering this is going to be my first car.

Altroz is better option considering safety rating, new features and value for the price.
i20 is good as interior quality, proven on road.
Baleno is last in this list as light weight, not so strong body n interior.

If you can for another 1-2 months, i20 facelift will be getting launched .. would be a good option to consider ..

@ Mayank

It all ends down to preference, pl refer USP

Maruti Baleno
> Spacious Family Car - better space than other 2 cars
> Quicker in Acceleration response within city
> Engine NVH Levels are at par with the best along with Hyundai
> Maruti Reliability, After Sales Service Network, Reliability
> Easy Smooth Car and Ideal for within city usage

> Build Quality
> Suspension is still slight stiff against competition so ride not as plush in city as otherwise felt in Altroz or I20

Hyundai Elite I20'
> Feels more Sturdy against Baleno
> Interiors feels more bright
> Very Stylish as Pack in Exteriors, Interiors
> Under-thigh support, Seats are well cushioned against Baleno
> Superior Features List especially in higher up Sportz Plus and Asta
> Very Light Steering, Reliable Product
> Suspension Dynamics feels better for within city usage
> Equally reliable and possibly the lowest maintenance among premium hatch

> Relative compact in space in Baleno
> Not the best in high speed due to relative light steering
> Pickup feels just average, not the best
> New Gen I20 on way and expected in few months

Tata Altroz
> Value Buy in Base Altroz XE, XE Rhythm Pack
> Build Quality, Safety is Uncompromised
> Suspension Dynamics, Handling is benchmark
> Stylish Car from Exterior Profile

> Engine NVH Levels are still higher., 3 cylinder engine
> Pickup not the best or shall say feels slight under-powered
> Tata After Sales yet to catch up to Maruti, Hyundai Service
> Rear Seat Headroom is restricted
> Although Doors open wide open, but to view is an ergonomic fault as for anyone with short height just needs to almost jump to reach to door handle to close it
> A New Product - yet to prove and emerge as brand as against Proven I20, Baleno

Overall recommendation
> If Base Variant - Altroz XE Rhythm Pack is Value
> Middle Variants - Maruti Baleno leads
> Top Models - I20 Sportz Plus, Asta looks better

Hope should help !!
