Hey all motorist greetings of the day to you all. Is it possible to upgrade all four disc brake for Maruti Suzuki Baleno. As Baleno RS comes with this as an standard feature. Only difference is 1ltr turbo charged petrol engine, otherwise all other body parameters are same.
Please advice.
Thanks and keep motoring.

Hello,

If you ask me that is it possible - well answer is yes
But, Adding rear disc brake is not a direct fitment like removing drum and adding disc in rear
It needs a comprehensive modification and trust i really doubt on manship of such a sort of modification, any such modification if gone bad can end up been fatal.

Also, can add up :- Having all 4 disc brakes improves braking effectiveness but not something which can be differentiated by a regular driver. In day to day life - a very very marginal difference can be felt in, and for all practical reasons been the front has disc - it makes no sense to alter in braking system.

I wont recommend

Hope should help !!

Thank you very much for such a practical answer. I also agree with you regarding the oem supply braking and safety system.
Thanks once again.

I recently bought Maruti Baleno ZETA Variant. Which has front disc and rear drum brakes

My concern is that the showroom and service centers confirm that we cannot add rear discs. Cause that service center cannot add ABS.

And also confirms that rear disc is available only on BALENO RS variant. Which is a bummer. And is there is a possibility that I can have rear discs without any of this hassle??????
I’ve been doing some research on this. ABS system is not an issue because the baleno RS has the same part numbers(from Boodmo, not many technicians have information about these)for all four sensors and the module. The brake lines (hard lines) were also same/similar in size and part numbers so that won’t be an issue I guess. The brake booster and master cylinder has different part numbers but I think you can get away with the oem one on your regular Baleno. I tried to source the front disk rotors and calipers of Baleno RS from showroom but they are very costly as they are imported. Trying to get a bigger rotor and caliper in Suzuki line up as I would still like to take it for periodic services. I think the Ciaz brakes might do the job, not sure. Planning to use the front brake setup the car currently has as the rear brakes. Need to figure out mounting the caliper properly. I’m hoping the front caliper mount can be used on the rear. If everything goes according to plan it will cost under 10-12k only.
