Have gone through various posts on net and it seems that DCT has a problem of over heating in bumper to bumper traffic

Hello,

Well some of the owners yes did reported in heating issue in DCT Transmission of Seltos, and reason is evident its a Dry Clutch abuse by driving style. Unlike Wet Clutch which is well lubricated and is there in performance oriented engine or can take on stress conditions better, for a dry clutch car - some checks required from owner to prevent transmission heat up issue

> After coming on standstill at red light - advisable to slot gear in Neutral, as this will disengage in clutch. Keeping car in drive mode and applying brakes on and off can likely heat up transmission

> Avoid driving in Eco Mode in heavy traffic conditions. Best to select Normal Mode

> Avoid pressing brakes in half way, Fully press the brakes to disengage clutch when in traffic

> In Bumper to Bumper traffic, try to avoid crawl, rather wait for the car in the front to move and keep distance so that can accelerate in and stop instead of crawl kind

For your information, In DCT, clutch get disengaged when the brake is pressed even if it is in D mode. Hence keeping it in N or D while stopping in signal is immaterial in DCT vehicles

There is an issue with Hyundai Venue DCT model.

the sales guy at the showroom did not inform that the transmission would overheat in traffic conditions; in mumbai traffic, whats the point
of shifting to N gear all the time when you have purchased an automatic dct

if the technology has its associated risks why did Hyundai India not inform the consumers before they purchase the car ; I feel cheated by Hyundai India

The car transmission is getting heated up after 40 mins of driving. I never went to Neutral. Why buy an automatic car and go to Neutral? It's so bizarre. The car transmission seems to be very meak. This is just my first day out in bumper to bumper traffic of Bangalore. Feeling really helpless already.

Hi,

I was planning fo buy venue dct - does the heating issue still persist and is it really that evident thay we may have to stop the vehicle for sometime.
I am from Mumbai and face daily b 2 b traffic conditions

yes the heating issue will persist as the dct is a dry version and will heat up in b2b traffic in a metro city

If you want an automatic buy a torque converter automatic and its not available in venue

Thank you
I m weighing options betweem Ecosport & brezza both are miles apart in almost all aspects. Ecosport is expensive as well.

I am not an enthusiast - just want an option to go from point a to b with ease.

Plus my drive is going to be mostly weekends only (my office is very close) so inclined towards brezza AT inspite of old torque converter.
