Hello Gagan ji,

Please suggest how to ensure we are getting genuine engine oil filled while getting car serviced at atuthorized dealer shop?

Have seen some YouTube videos where they mention some service station uses engine oil from drums which are not exactly new but recycled using old engine oil. Is that true? My friend recently went for his car service and asked for engine oil from a new sealed bottle but service guy told they don’t use bottles but only drum.

Is this actually a concern? Should we be taking our own engine oil bottle which is recommended as per service manual and get that used so as to avoid this situation?

I dont know which YT videos says that but is what a myth to presume that drum contains old, recycle oil
To the best of available info, no authorized dealer workshop will attempt to use recycle oil same as this can
> be fatal to car engine by causing in Engine knocking issues
> can lead to scores of customers visiting back with complaints every day

The drum contains upto 200 Litres of Engine oil, and is well approved by manufacturers to stock in Engine oil
No issues absolutely to the extent of 99% - but if one can get oil replacement from a genuine bottle then (1% is even taken care of) as owner can even take care of exact quantity of oil replaced, as against approximate oil replaced when using drums.

Hope should help !!
