Planning to buy 1.4 diesel verna. Is it advisable to buy diesel cars as next year bs6 norms will be implemented. Or better to go for 1.4 petrol version..?

Hello,

There are some things important to consider,

1. A BS-4 Car can well be driven on BS-6 Fuel - no issues as fuel lubrication properties are similar

2. A BS-6 Car is superior on emission front with lower PM and also lesser acidic on engine front - but a BS-4 car can well offer in same performance as what offered in BS6

3. A BS-6 Diesel Car if driven on BS-6 fuel due to changes in catalytic, DPF will have also improved engine NVH Levels as against BS4 Car driven on BS6 Fuel

Now for Hyundai - unlike Maruti - they will well be continuing with 1.4 crdi and will upgrade to BS6 as the same engine used in Elite I20, Creta, Venue other than Verna.

So if concerned on
> Whether Verna 1.4 diesel will sustain in future
> Whether 1.4 crdi will be discontinued
then these are rumors and Verna 1.4 crdi will be very much there

However care for car
> for Environmental concern
> for Superior Engine NVH Levels
> Lesser Acidic formation in Engine
> Technological advanced to meet in latest emission standard
then should well consider and await for BS-6 Verna in 2020

Rest to make a choice in between Verna Petrol and Diesel - suggest to consider in average running
Verna Diesel feels slight more responsive against Verna Petrol and yes expect superior mileage too.

Hope should help !!
