Dear Admin,

Hope you are doing well !!

Got my old Swift exchanged with a new car at end of Dec'18 month. Dealer told it will take 3-4 months for the registration transfer. I kept following up and now after 4 months, dealer has told me that they could not sell the car in Delhi. So, they have sold the car in Punjab. Dealer has shared the NOC copy with me from Delhi RTO and has said they have applied for registration transfer in Punjab RTO.

Looking to seek your guidance what should be my next step here. Shall i further wait for them to do the registration transfer? What are the other important documents i need to get from them for inter state registration transfer?

Thanks in advance for your guidance.

Yes NOC is the first step to effect transfer if buyer pertains to other state

But Important is Dealer should pursue it further to get vehicle transferred in name of new buyer, and not just hand over documents, as there is risk of vehicle plying on road without transfer

Ask dealer for RTO Receipt (Punjab RTO) within 1 month of NOC issuance date. Generally when RC is submitted to RTO with documents of buyer along with re-registration fees RTO issues acknowledgement slip for same

Within 2 months as maximum time the RC is issued to new owner (provided no issue in documents) which can also be cross verified through Parivahan site.

the same is with me. I have exchanged my old alto car with new swift in the month of June 2019. The dealer gave me the noc receipt issued by the delhi transport authority and told me that the car is sold in punjab and is under transfer process of new buyer. So after so many follow up with the dealer i have got the registration certificate of car sold to new buyer in the month of May 2019 after a gap of one year. At least you should follow up regularly with the dealer from where you have exchanged the car, it will take time but certainly you will get the rc copy of new buyer
