SUV are the present craze in India. But most suv preferred are diesel ones as petrol are giving less mileage.. But once BS6 engine are introduced in 2020 diesel vehicles will become costlier by another 1-1.5 lakhs, so will demand of suv come down post 2020.??? In Europe same phenomenon seen now a days suv have come down significantly. Is it wise to invest in suv now then knowing that post 2020 it will be costly?

Yes a mass segment of buyer consider Diesel Cars for Mileage, but in Hatch and Sedan
But in SUV Segment is what seen as buyer contention for power performance, power delivery - thats the reason Diesel Cars are much popular in the segment. There is like
> Virtually no demand for Petrol in cars like XUV500, Fortuner, Audi Q3, BMW X1, Benz GLA
> Relative lower demand for Petrol in Jeep compass, Tucson
> Even in Compact SUV Segment - Ecosport, Nexon still have more than 2/3rd sales in Diesel

The market will continue in for Diesel cars in SUV Segment, unless the Manufacturer comes with Turbo charged Petrol Engines in Mass market cars.
