Hi. I would like to know the ideal tyres for my polo comfortline petrol 185/60 R15. Have completed 40000 KM on alnacs and dint have any major complaints when it came to the stock tyres.

The options I have been considering are :

Continental cc5
Bridgestone turanza er300
Yokohama earth 1

My driving conditions are 50% Highway 30% city and 20% hill roads. The roads are pretty good with very few bad patches here and there and very rarely do I drive them on horrible roads (mostly happens on hilly terrains when the regular roads are not maintained).

Also considering MRF perfinza 195/60 R15.

Would like to take your inputs.

Hello,

We are not following Continental Tyres
Yokohoma Earth 1 is a reasonable good choice but is even better when one care to drive on slight bad roads
Else for conditions mentioned - will choose to pick in between Bridgestone and MRF

The end choice would be MRF Perfinza Tyres - which is what a premium range offering and offers soft yet plush ride quality
Its a latest series of Tyres from MRF and is designed for Indian roads yet offer experience of Soft, Plush ride with reasonably good grip

Will choose in MRF Perfinza Tyre among all

Hi admin

Thank you for your prompt response. Forgot to mention that mine is a 1.2 petrol. Will the upsizing affect the performance in anyway ?

I did not like any of the options in 185/60 r15 and Bridgestone er300 was the only one I was considering seriously.

I like the perfinza tyres and am tempted to give it a try but when it comes to 195/60 r15 it opens up more options too like the P3ST and Potenza 3 and earth 1 too.

Should I go ahead and get the MRFs or are there much better options in 195/60 r15 where there will be a considerable difference in performance.

Just to be clear my day to day drive has absolutely no potholes and the roads are good. Highway is like any good Highway and nothing to complain.

I drive on extremely bad roads only twice or thrice a month at the most.

So perfinza vs Potenza vs P3ST vs Yoko ??

Please let me know the best option and I will change it immediately :)

Thanks again.

Yes the admin's reply was very clear and my initial question was only regarding 185/60 r15. Now when I have decided to upsize then I just want to know the best available options as there are more to choose from in 195/60 r15.
I don't know much about tyres bhai and when I am spending quite a lot on them I just want to make sure I get a good driving experience. No harm in clarifying with a person who knows about tyres. Cheers.

Hello Vikram,

I will tend to avoid upsizing Tyres in 1.2 Petrol
R195 Tyres are even fatter and for a car with 75 PS Power - it would be too much.

But for Tyre R15 185/60 - am sure there would be many more options as Michelin XM2 / Brigdestone B290
For condition mentioned -
Just to be clear my day to day drive has absolutely no potholes and the roads are good. Highway is like any good Highway and nothing to complain.

Recommend to go with Michelin XM2 - soft tyres and best for plush ride.

Hi admin,

I have to change my Nissan Sunny XV 2012 diesel tyres from stock bridgestone b250 185/65 r15. After considerable time spent on google shortlisted the following tyres.

MRF Perfinza - 195/60 r15
Yokohama Earth 1 - Either 185/65 or 195/60.

Most of the travel will be with in town limits of kanyakumari. Its my dad who will be driving.

Please share your thoughts on whether to upsize or not and which brand to choose from.

Hello,

Stock Tyre Size is good enough
Am unsure of the roads in Kanya kumari - but for city drive Wont recommend Tyre upsize for a car having just 85 BHP Power on Engine Front,
Its reasonable to stick to stock size of R15 185/65 for better comfort oriented drive.

Hope should help !!
