I have bought a Honda City 2009 a week back. The problem is, the key is removable while the ignition is on where as this is not supposed to happen. I contacted Honda Service and they said the lock set has to be replaced and it would cost more than 10000/- Rupees. What would be the suggestion to do now? Replacing the complete lock set or replacing the key alone? Please let me know about it.

Hello,

Honda dealers barely repair in lock set
The entire lock set assembly needs replacement which cost in around Rs 12000

But as what mentioned by you - it seems that the key is able to turn on ignition and even switch off engine
It Seems that
> Either the lock bar in the ignition set is worn
> The Ignition System is severely worn out

due to which the key is coming out even after turning on ignition
Suggest to refer the car key system in after - market.
