Hi Sir ,

Just wanted to know the real world Mileage of Honda Amaze Petrol CVT , company claims 19kmpl Sounds GOOD , but in practical conditions with AC on all the time what do you think will it be economic & easy on pocket ? Or should avoid going for Petrol CVT in All new Honda Amaze as i need a vehicle for next 7-8 years & of course i want it to be fuel efficient most of the time .. Many a people say it only gives around 8-10kmpl only which is scary & others say its will give around 14-15 kmpl in daily city conditions . Confused , Kindly suggest your thoughts on it .

Hello,

It would be too early to report in mileage, as is based on number of factors including Traffic, speed, load in car

But -
> CVT Transmission is the most fuel efficient in Automatic Transmission technology (better than Torque converter, DSG)
> Amaze is a light weight vehicle around 950 Kg in CVT

By all chances- expect mileage to be in range of 12 to 13 Kmpl in City drive conditions (in Delhi, NCR), which is what should set right expectations for
In Long distance - ofcourse it would be better and can expect in around 14 to 15 KMpl

Hope should help.

Wanted to correct only one thing.. CVT is not fuel efficient than DSG..:D Till today, DSG is the best gear box available in cars which is more fuel efficient and quick as compared to CVT transmission which is having drawback of rubber band effect.

Check these values provided by Company itself.

Manual Honda Amaze. - AVG 27.3
CVT Honda Amaze (Diesel) - AVG 23.8

In contrast to this CVT, DSG gearbox will give same or more average than the manual gear box.

Thanks.

As u rightly pointed out, the Amaze petrol cvt is very poor on mileage. Almost all owners are unhappy with it's single digit fuel average. Better to avoid the Petrol CVT before Honda fixes this problem.

Hi , Its been 6 months now since i am driving New Amaze V CVT petrol , & i am impressed with its fuel economy , Living in Gurgaon , Office hours traffic is a mess here & its giving me 14-14.5 KMPL with AC on all the time in City . Now here i am using light foot to drive always , On highways it gave me 18.5KMPL with AC on & full passenger load along with luggage . CVT will deliver excellent fuel economy only the thing you have to be gentle on Throttle , Till now i am completely satisfied with my Amaze CVT petrol . Pic attached for my Highway Fuel economy , i was en-route to Jaipur with my family .

Thanks & Regards :

Sarthak

Honda Amaze V CVT does not give more than 9-11 kmpl in cities. My friend owns one nd is really fed up esp. since he is an frequent driver. I was planning to buy the same model but switched to Dzire AMT considering the mileage. Honda should really fix this mileage bug of Honda amaze cvt, if it wants to continue its Fy-19 sales performance

I have Honda Amaze S CVT and I am really unhappy with its fuel economy. I drive in Gurgaon daily to office and in course of first 1000 KM i have never seen the average in double digits. Maximum I have seen is 9.6 and on highways not more than 10.5.

I would not suggest any body to buy Honda Amaze CVT (automatic) version. I bought Honda car on feedback from my friends who said the average is not less than 15 KM/L but all my friends had manual transmission car. But Honda sales people claimed that CVT will give more average as compared to manual.

Do not buy CVT. I made a mistake, please do not make it. Buy manual.

I am using amaze v cvt since March 2019, when I use soft foot on accelerator I am getting avg city mileage of 13.3 and highway around 18 to 20 depending upon wind flow, speed, acceleration,ac ect.., but some times though you are using soft foot on acceleration it is giving single digit mileage(seems ac is consuming more fuel at temperature 20 -automatic on). Big surprise is how this numbers are changing really confusing me a lot. In traffic always I will keep vehicle in N-Nutral mode to save more pertrol if I need to stop for more than 20 to 30 seconds to get better mileage.

Really fed up with mileage. It is good for city driving. For highway driving it is bull shit car. If wind is more, car is not stable on road. fuel tank is only 35 ltrs. you need to fill it continuously if you are driving long distance highways - going from hyderabad to bangalore.

If the fuel economy is good, then we think of going for cvt petrol for city driving only, else better to go for any maruthi AMT models.

It purelly depends on how you drive your car.
If you pull hard at signals or after a complete stop (from 0) obviously 11-12 is a good figure. On the other hand if you are gentle on the gas you can get around 14-15. I personally get ~14.5 in city (Pune), manual transmission, while on AC. Even in CVT if you keep on pulling hard plus that added rubber band effect, you aught to get poor mileage. CVT won't give you that pulling power that a DSG offers.

I own honda amaze V CVT Petrol. Yesterday I drove 200 km distance in one instance where I got mileage around 21 to 22kmpl without using AC. Most of the time I tried to maintain the speed between 60 to 90 kmph. I didn't not cross 100 kmph, gentle on acceleration and avoid unnecessary braking. I think honda amaze CVT in my best choice over on any compact sedan
