hello :-)
i have a question regarding ENGINE OIL to be used in service of my Toyota INNOVA 2.5G , its been driven 106445 km till and next service is due within next 400 km.

While company says for each service to be at 10,000 km but i always get it serviced 500-600 km before the told one plus the warranty of engine expired at 100000 km , so wanted to know if in this and from this service i could use Liqui Moly or Shell Helix fully synthetic engine oil and i want to know the exact and correct specification of engine oil to be used e.g 10W-40 or 0W-40 or so

b'coz when i called up the company and asked regarding that, then the service engineer refused saying that its better for engine to use the oil given by the company only for since the start the same engine oil was being used and upon asking about pure synthetic oil ,he told that given offers pure synthetic oil too, provided it little costly than normal one (well no doubt in that), he added if i change to other companies engine oil then it might effect engine performance and engine life since am using the engine oil given by company since start

how about if i get engine flush before using new or other company engine oil?? , will the engine flush effect my engine or i simply change oil with Liqui Moly or Shell Helix, if engine flush isnt needed for now??

for sure am going to use Cera Tec of Liqui Moly and diesel additive but about engine oil am not sure ,so i want to be 100% sure before i go for anything regarding engine
if in case someone wants to directly mail me regarding the answer to this ,plz be sure for what u tell :-)
thanks

Hello,

First come first - no Toyota / Honda Cars requires Engine Flush
It will rather impact in Engine negatively as this is something which is not recommended by OEM

For even switching to other Engine Oil - no need of flush - its just Oil drain in complete and new oil filled along with oil filter change
Now for the specific engine Oil - in terms of Oil Grade
Pl note that inhouse brand of Toyota and Honda are same as Idemitsu Engine Oil - which they have developed for best engine protection and is what recommended as best rather than shifting to any other Oil

Also - if you not looking for complete service - you can contact Toyota workshop for only change in Oil and Oil filter. They may charge labor charges of Rs 400 for same apart from engine oil cost, but is what the best engine oil for the car

Hope should help !!

Hello admin, thanks for reply
So for my Innova I should stick with company service and should prefer the engine oil they use, right??
My second question
I got a Maruti 800 1991 model, 800 cc
Got its engine changed 5 years ago
For my that car too I want to use liqui moly or shell helix fully synthetic oil
Can you plz tell me the specification of oil to use in it??
Plus is it safe to use cera tec of liqui moly on it, although they say it's safe for all type of car, but my car is quite old,
Plus on that car too, should I go for engine flush or simply I should get these high grade oil??
Thanks once again :-)

Hello,

No idea about this 27 year Old Maruti 800cc
Also as engine changed, unsure its it latest F8D Engine or the older one
If its Alto F8D Engine - refer Maruti Engine Oil Guide

Else, Best to connect with Dealer workshop on same.
