First of all i congratulate your team on doing such a wonderful job.i am regular visitor of your site from last 3 years, it is very very helpful. I want to ask few questions i own elite i20 jan 2015 model which i got 4rth (30000 / 3 yrs)service done few days back. Odometer reading was 25000 kms. Servicemen did not change brake fluid and coolent, they said it need not to be replaced. They did not add additive as well but according to service book need to be added. I think they avoided that because bill was already 8000rs.My queries are
1. Brake fluid and coolent need to be replaced on 30000km/3yrs or the hyundai rewamped service schedule 2017 also applies to 2015 model according to which coolent and brake fliud need not be replaced until 10yrs.
2.should i add additive now, if yes then please tell me the brand and grade etc. So i can add them from outside, what else should be taken care of while adding additive.

Thanks and regret delay in replying as was occupied in Auto Expo

In terms of queries
> Yes Brake fluid and coolant needs to be replaced as per recommended service schedule in the owner manual
Hyundai did some tweaks and changes in 2016 in there car line up in braking and engine and hence a longer service interval was what tested
But for cars manufactured before it - the consumable items needs to be replaced for best long term protection from wear and tear and effectiveness. Suggest to connect with Hyundai Workshop to get these consumable replaced
It hardly cost in around rs 1000 - 1200 for same

> Additives are optional and best to get what Hyundai recommend
But - they are more effective in a Diesel car due to much faster engine compression and high pressure injectors
Not recommended to our view in Petrol car

Hope should help !!

Thanks for your reply. My car is diesel i 20 i forgot to mention that. After your reply i again called workshop and they continue to say that there is no need to replace them. They say we will do it to satisfy you but actually there is no need. I told them the cars manufactured from 2016 ownwords need not but my one is 2015.
I am getting them replaced.
