I got my car serviced yesterday. It was Third Free Service.
The engine oil put in my Swift Petrol is Castrol Synthetic Oil (5W30).
The user manual prefers 5W30 in Swift Diesal where as it prefers SAE 0W-20(1) for Swift Petrol.

I want to ask whether 5W30 will affect the performance of my Petrol car?

Hello Mayank,

Well 0W/20 or 0W/40 in synthetic remains in best choice as it provides the best protection

But - The Engine Oil Grade 5W/30 is although a Synthetic Oil, but is slight thicker against recommended viscosity grade of 0W and are specifically considered in recommended for cars which are been driven in excess traffic conditions having frequent start-stop

Having said same - for uniform best protection - 0W/20 or 0W/40 remains the ideal choice for Petrol Engine.
For further details - refer Maruti Genuine Oil

Hope should help !!
