Whether diesel vehicles or to be exact diesel engines, provide better protection during head on collision in view of their additional weight.

Hello,

Nothing like it
Its due to Turbo-charger and heavier Engine block, piston as against a Petrol Car
Having said same - there is no change in Body design, however yes suspension is slight tuned to take on additional weight of Diesel Engine

Now in terms of safety due to head collision - no difference.
