I sold my bike to a dealer in exchange for a new Scooter, the bike had crossed 15years. I had got the road tax renewed for additional 5 years. Now it's been almost 3-4 months the vehicle has been sold, the dealer comes to our home and is asking for approx 6000/- INR stating that the vehicle test had not been conducted when I sold the vehicle.

Will RTO issue road tax for additional 5 years without testing the vehicle. Do wet get any document stating that the fitness is checked. He says, the new buyer tried to register the beehive under his name and got to know that the fitness was not done after 15 years. If the fitness was not done, how did the RTO issue Road tax for additional 5 years. Is there something wrong on the story...

Please help as we are ignorant on such matters.

I hope this is for Indian city as your location is showing in UAE

When the vehicle completes 15 years, RTO issues in new Smart card with new registration validity printed on it
> After Tax Payment
> After Fitness Certificate renewal

However, as you have already paid in tax for next 5 years - no as such fitness charges (or very minimal if any) would be required to be paid in.
The amount of Rs 6000 looks way too high. Pl dont entertain or ask dealer to get fitness done and give you an official receipt duly stamped by RTO- avoid any such thing called cash payment or bribe if been asked for,
