Advice on Converting Volkswagen vento petrol to cng. Is it feasible ? And if it is , how shall the performance be ?
Admin Accepted Answer

Although Sequential Kits are compatible with all modern age engines

But CNG as a modified fuel option is not much recommended with the core reason
> Power Performance would dip. Already Vento touches in 1120 Kg and adding up CNG Cylinder, Kit weight will make it to 1180 Kg and Power figure will dip to 90 PS and torque will deteriorate to 130 NM. This means just around 72 PS/tonne Power. This will impact in Mid range performance pep to rather a significant extent

> Volkswagen India do not recommend in CNG Modification and any Tuning Issue or Fitment issue will not be addressed by Volkswagen Workshop

> The Popularity of CNG is much deteriorated in Mid Sedan Cars. Its the reason why Maruti Suzuki even not offering CNG Fitment in Ciaz. Expect no better resale due to CNG.

Hope should help !!

Personally I have used both CNG (Chevrolet AVEO) and LPG (Chevrolet SPark). In My view CNG should not be used in any car due to its dry state of nature. It hampers the Valve Guides and Valve Seats in the long run resulting in heavy expenses. On the contrary LPG is more suitable and also easily available fuel solution for any car. The LPG tanks are much lighter as compared to CNG and they also occupy less space in the trunk. Performance of LPG is in line with Petrol as it gives similar mileage however per kilometer cost is reduced to half as compared to Petrol. Lastly the storage capacity of LPG is 30litres with a small toroidal tank (Occupies Spare Wheel space) with a range of 300-400kms which is more practical. Large capacity 70Litres Cylindrical tanks are also available with LPG which can be use in bigger luxury sedans like Honda Accord, Hyundai Elantra / Creta/ Tucson
