I have wagonr Lxi CNG
which have Apollo Tyres 145/80/R13
Which is due for change
Can I upgrade it to 165/70/R13
As this upgrade shows minimum error in terms of circumference and other.
I have questions
1. Only Apollo XL have this specs
My experience with Apollo they are hard & make noise. Will it be same with Apollo XL also.
2. Does it quase any problems like milege reduction if yes by how much current milege is 27 in city & 29 highway. Also any other problems like suspension, tyre scrapping etc.
Please suggest I want better grip, less noise & want to intact same milege.
Don't want to upgrade wheel size.

Hello,

Just to reconfirm - you mentioned 27 Km/kg in City and 29 Km/Kg in Highway
Current Mileage by all standards is exceptional and almost the best can expect in even in Wagon R Ownership

As you referred in - you seek the same mileage
Will infact advise not to alter any modification from stock size - as thats the best OEM Size recommendation for Mileage
Been - if you go for upsize - its bound to impact mileage due to wider tyres, unless you upsize wheels too

For more details - refer Tyre Upsize Pros and Cons

Hope should help !!

My dad's Wagon R is of 2010 lxi model and are shoded with 145/80 R13. It is due for replacement and I would like to do an upsizing.
As per tyre size calculator, 165/65 R14 matches the upgrade and difference is only 1.41%.

What do you think guys? Does it have any issues with scraching on bumber or something like that?

@ Arun

As you upsizing wheels too at 14 Inch
The size 165/65 R14 is deviated against OEM size in acceptable limit and will not likely have any issues except some marginal mileage drop.

Hi Admin,

Thank you for the valuable response.
Among the tyres, which one to select for 165/65 R14?
1. Bridgestone S332
2. Apollo Amzer 4G

I am considering only Apollo or Bridgestone. Is there any other good variant from these manufacturers?

Thanks,
Arun

For WagonR CNG lxi
Stock tyre is 145/80/13 -Apollo Amazer 3g they lasted 50000km and has 3-4 punctures each.
Now Due for change which tyre company is better for less noise, comfortable and weekends off roading.
Heard of continental CC5
And also apollo 4g life please suggest for less noise and long lasting.
Michelin are good but puncture prone, as I drove weekend to village roads.
Considering cc5, 4g life, xm2, b290 or any other company. Please suggest

Hi,

Currently wagon r LXI car has MRF 145/70 r13 tube tyres. Would it be fine to replace it with 145/80 r13 tubeless tyres.

Will it impact the car drive and mileage. Please advise.
