I would like to know if up sizing the stock tyres and wheels of polo Highline 1.5 Litre to 195/60 R16 is safe.
i want to increase the Ground Clearance from 165 mm to atleast 170 mm considering the bad roads here, any advice i would be very helpful.

Thank you

Hello,

As you mentioned Polo Highline - it comes in Stock Tyre Size of R15 185/60
However - the upsize you mentioning of R16 195/60 is leading to
> Upsize of wheels from 15 to 16 Inch
> Increasing Tyre Width too

This upsize is not recommended at all - been the overall deviation would be more than 6% and will take the ride and handling for a toss

In case you seeking upsize May not replace and upsize wheels, but check out R15 195/60 Tyre Profile
This will help in gaining in
> Tyre Diameter from 23.7 Inches to 24.2 Inches
> Tyre Sidewall height from 4.4 Inches to 4.6 Inches

and eventually will gain ground clearance in car. Also the upsize deviation is 2% - which is under 2% will not impact in handling.
Hope should help !!

How about upsizing from R15 185/60 to R15 185/65??

This increases only height not width. Hope there will be no handling issues too.
