Dear Sir,
I have a 2010 Honda City ivtec. My question is that after servicing the car/replacement of engine oil, I find that the engine oil level decreases to bottom level after run of 2000 Km (it means it consumes more than one litre after running 2000 Km). It is usual or their is some problem in the car engine. Please suggest.

Hello,

Honda City has just around 3.4 Litre Engine Oil Capacity
A Bare Minimum 1.5 Litre Oil is required to be at all times, considering same if your car losing engine oil at more than 1 Litre in just 2000 Kms then it seems a possible issue

Suggest to check
> Is there any excessive Smoke sign, get it checked by taking a sample run and ask a fellow member to follow car and check
> Any Possible Leakage signs of Engine Oil
> Check Coolant - is it turned greyish / brownish

If there are none of these symptoms - then suggest to top up engine Oil and observe Oil Levels on monthly basis / 750 Kms run
If still oil levels turns low - you may have to get car inspected from workshop

Hi,

I'm facing same problem in my Honda city IDTEC 2015 model.

It start consuming Engine oil more than expected and within 3000 KM it consume whole engine oil. In last service, only 100ml oil left.

My car show smoke when I start and it continue for 3 to 4 KM and after that no smoke.

Now, can you please suggest me what to do?

Thanks,
Arya

Hello,

More needs to be checked on smoke - black or blue smoke

As Engine oil getting depleted fast - its important to get car assessed at Honda workshop immediately for
> Engine Oil Leakage if there any
> Cause of Fast burning of Oil which may be due to worn out piston
> Also are you are refilling in Honda Genuine Oil or from after-market (as there is a possibility that in case after-market oil is used, its thinner as against recommended viscosity)

Whatever may be - do not skip these (as if the oil continue to do so - it can possibly impact in Engine causing repair bill to run in Lakhs) and if required write to OEM too stating concern and get car immediately checked

Hope should help !!
