Is Low ground clearance in all new Maruti Dzire 2017 at163 mm is not a problem ?
Will it not touch humps ? Why Maruti Suzuki reduced it to 163 mm from 170 mm .

I think this will be a huge problem , not sure why Maruti having known the Indian roads so well went ahead with this decision to have GC of just 163 mm.. i think this will be the single flop in the car

Ground clearance is measured at lowest point. 163 mm may be lowest point but of non critical part. so wait for reviewers to do in-depth analysis.
we don't know if under engine protection is provided or not yet. Just believe know one understands Indian car market better than MARUTI!.

Any way 163 mm is too low a ground clearance for such an increase in wheelbase.......sure to hit roads.. with 5 people inside....because even the old version alto with 160 mm ground clearance is hitting the road when it overcome a steep bump with hardly 2 people inside which is common in the roads especially in Kerala.......So this is a flop from Maruti.....This will be highlighted by competitors......

Hello,

Rather is the other way around
A Lower ground clearance, rather enhances the drive and handling of all New Dzire. Along with suspension tune up, the center of gravity of car is lower which makes it more precise and to the first impression review of Petrol Engine
> It feels even more accurate than Baleno
> Suspension seems tune up and on the slight bad roads are well absorbed
> All New Dzire (as in Petrol as what test driven) emerges as almost the best in compact Sedan Segment in City Drive and Handling

Instead of raising in ground clearance and making a soft suspension, its better to decrease ground clearance and tune up suspension for better ride, handling

Hope this answers all !!

It might be good in the initial days, but suspension might get soften a bit over a period of time, which might invite many problems.

In Honda City 2017 the ground clearance is 165mm. This is full sedan car. Not if we consider new Dzire 2017 the ground clearance of 163mm may not be a challenge at least in city. If we consider village ride point of view, the new Dzire could be a problem in terms of ground clearance.

ARAI out the new ground clearance norms. Measurements will now be taken with a fully laden vehicle, as against the earlier condition of an unladen vehicle thats why now dzire ground clearance will be 163 mm.

New dzire ground clearance of 163 mm is in unladen state and not as per revised ARAI rule of 90 % fuel with 4 passengers including driver inside the car. :(

Yes, its a big problem in rural areas. I own latest model, its pathetic. I am considering buying mini suv with high ground clearance. Never go for low ground clearance vehicles. In India it never works, but people are forced to buy it as maintaining a maruti is easy but when your vehicle touches ground it makes a "HOLE" in your wallet & in it hurts you mentally too. Always go gor a vehicle with ground clearance above 200 mm. End of story, don't be a fool. Hope it helps ?
