My Swift Dzire diesel started giving problems of not starting and getting off on its own and not starting again.Checked the battery starter every thing seems okey.

It starts after 3 to 4 hours of cool down. Changed fuel filter problem persists. Mechanic Changed fuel pump and fuel Tank. the car ran satisfactorily for 80 Kms. Whereas earlier if gets off after 10 Kms only. Fuel pump is okey but do i need to change the fuel tank does any air leakage (fuel does not spills) in the tank can have this kind of affect

Based on the issue mentioned - most likely could be 2 probabilities

> Engine Overheating: If coolant is okay and coolant levels are okay. Pl check for Engine Oil Levels, is dipstick showing Oil level correct. If Oil Levels, Coolant levels are okay then the next possibility would be to check Fuel Lines

> Fuel Lines / Fuel Injector / Fuel Pressure / Fuel Pump : Get it inspected from Maruti Suzuki Workshop. This could possibly be another and yet most common reason.

As you have confirmed that the issue is resolved after changing in Fuel pump - most likely the issue related to fuel pressure rails
But - unsure why is the workshop asking to change in Fuel Tank. If there is no leakage or the service center estimating in dirt in fuel tank then - they may clean in fuel tank but no need to replace the fuel tank as such

Hope should help !!
