My Swift Dezire Petrol / Cng installed has a check light burning and the car does not run smoothly on petrol as the check engine light blinks and the car looses power. When the car switches to Cng then it runs fine but when it's in the petrol mode it does not even stay idle properly. Plz advise

Hello,

Will suggest to not to drive car and get it towed to workshop
It indicates a serious flaw as most likely the engine is misfiring, resulting in drop of power and letting the unburned the fuel entering in catalytic converter which can cause catalytic converter to fail - if the car is continued to be driven for long

Catalytic converter replacement including Labor in Maruti Suzuki Dzire Petrol can cost in almost Rs 14K to 15K
Suggest to get car checked for this engine misfiring - is it due to spark plug, Oxygen Sensor or any other issue

Hope should help !!

The jerking on petrol can be resolved by cleaning injectors. This is because when car runs on cng it takes gas flow from gas injectors. When it runs on petrol it takes petrol flow from petrol injectors and your petrol injectors should be cleaned to get proper flow of petrol while car is running on petrol.
