I am new to this site and would like to know the suggestions from the experts who experimented and upsized the car tryes from stock tyres on swift vdi Oct, 2014 model. Granite Grey Colour.

I would like to upsize my car tyres from 165 80 r14 to 195 60 r15 and also would like to change the steel rims to alloy wheels.

Brand: Michelin (XM2, Primacy 3) / Yokohama (Earth1, A Drive)

Alloy Wheels Brand: Momo/Plati. Please suggest any brand apart from the mentioned names.

Please suggest the dealers for the above mentioned brands in Hyderabad, where I can get all the things at one place with discount.

Momo and Plati are descent alloy Wheel brands.

For Alloy Wheels - refer this post on - Best Alloy Wheel Brands

In terms of Tyre upsize from R14 165/80 to R15 195/60 - this is close to a perfect upsize with
> Better Steering Firmness
> Better Drive-ability on High Speed
> Bad roads are taken at relative easier due to higher width
> You will feel the car grip, handling of the car to be better planted
> Despite of R195 - due to shorter sidewall - the overall diameter is still lesser which means that tyre will not scrape on body even when the car fully loaded

However - there are only 2 drawbacks
> Mileage tend to be impacted, especially on city drives
> May lose 1 to 2 mm ground clearance
> Would be slight noisier as against R 185/65
> Marginal speed o error - so when driving on speed of 61 to 62 - it will still show in as 60 Kmph

Hope should help !!

Hello sir,
I have a Swift VX I 2015.She has stock rims and tires 165/80R14..It has traveled 45,000 kilometers so far.I want to upgrade the tires and rims.I think that's it 15 inch alloy wheels and 195/60 R15 tyres. Is this update correct? Will the tires touch the body of the car?And whether the tire will go out of the fender..
Pls suggest me...
