Hi All,

I have Fiat Aventura that I had purchased in 2014 and is BS 5 Complaint. It was registered in Chennai.

Recently I moved to Delhi. The car dealer told me that it's not mandatory to have a PUC certificate but when I spoke to one PUC person here in Delhi they said it's mandatory. Can you please help?

Modifying the question - the car in question is BS-IV Compliant and not BS-5 Compliant
Present Emission norms are of BS-IV Standard, and cars sold in India are in compliance to same only

In terms of PUC - Pollution check, as the car in question mentioned of 2014 make
The Dealer Personnel is providing you incorrect info, PUC check and Certificate is required to be obtained for drive and will be valid for 1 year (its only for Brand New Car - the exemption is there in the 1st Year) in Delhi. Refer details on PUC Norms

In event of driving without PUC in Delhi- the fine is Rs 1000
Hope should help !!
