Sir,
I would like to have your valuable advice regarding a problem of my car's engine which is stated below:-
Recently my car's high pressure fuel pump and fuel injectors has been diagnosed as faulty in the authorised service centre.Mine is ford fiesta classic 1.4 diesel variant.
Under the above situation I would like to seek your suggestion that whether to get these things repaired from a local shop or would you suggest me to go for a new one.
Sir,I am concerned more with the longevity of the product.
Kindly respond soon.

Thanking You,
Yours faithfully,

Hello,

Fuel Injectors are either
> Cleaned or
> Replaced

Unheard of any repairs done on Fuel Injectors. Also - There been many cases heard of Fuel Injector failure in Ford Cars - costing in around rs 15K / each injector - which are generally been replaced in.

For Fuel Pump replacement - whats the reason for service center calling for fuel pump replacement ?
Fuel Pump generally lasts for lifetime of the vehicle and is not something which is usual thing. Unless you drive on with low fuel or choose in to go for fuel filling at the very end of fuel - then contamination may clog in and call in for replacement of fuel pump

Hope should help !!

Sir,
With reference to your earlier reply regarding my Ford's fuel pump and fuel injectors.Already I have got my high pressure fuel pump repaired from a Bosch authorised service centre as a result of which now though my car is starting but there is a loud knocking sound coming from the car's engine. However owing to this problem the Ford service manager is suggesting me that it because of bad fuel pump that such noise is happening and I should get it replaced, however the Bosch service manager is suggesting me that such noise never happen because of fuel pump.
Hence,in between these conflicting opinions I am confused?
Sir,can you kindly clarify me that does a fuel pump controls a car's engine noise,if not then could you kindly let me know the other probable factors which can cause such loud knocking sound within the car's engine.

Thanking you,
Yours faithfully,

Hello,

Noise due to Fuel Pump
To agree to the fact that its unheard of noise from engine due to atleast fuel pump
There can be Jerks while drive, engine mis-fire, very low mileage, hard start or even car not starting at all due to a problem in car fuel pump
But - a noise from engine due to fuel pump is not much heard of

A Car Engine Knock sound
> Are there any Engine Warning Lights also switch on in the speed o meter ?
> Are you also experiencing some kind of Power Loss to the Car
> RPM Drops along with Excess smoke

If answer is yes - Potential Issue could be a related to Turbocharger
Else - There could be one to many reasons which can create in engine noise, you may search on Google explaining reasons

It may best be to visit alternate service center of Ford for best opinion on same.

Sir,
There is no warning light in the speed o meter, there is no power loss and there is no RPM drop. Moreover the colour of smoke is white as normal.
Sir,over google I found that any kind of damage in the piston ring can cause such loud knocking sound, however the Ford service manager is ruling it out.

Thanking you,

Dear Friends
Kindly suggest me the solution to my problem
I have Ford Fiesta 2006 TDCi
Recently I am facing the following issues:
1) While driving at more than 3K rpm, I got engine fault warning on speedometer panel
2) The rpm then stays below 2K and with very less power
3) The moment I switch off the engine and start again, the engine comes to life again without any problem but till 3K rpm
4) Percent hen this warning appears, the smoke comes
The local mechanic suggest me to replace the injectors and fuel filter set

Kindly suggest me the right reason
Thanks

hi ,

Fuel injector failures can avoid are due to the change the Fuel filter and Pump on regular time intervals ,Every 20000 kms once we should change fuel filter and Pump. This was an advice from the expert to avoid injector failures.

Even i have seen a 2012 figo ran 168000 kms still running with good condition without changing the Injector.

Frequent change of the Filters will help you to avoid the issues.
