What does ECU does and how can it solve in higher vibration issue in Tata Tiago. as i read online. I am interested in the car, but only higher gear vibrations and noise is what impacting my interest in the car

Hello...I've bought my new taigo(petrol) the last week and now i'm observing that the idleaing speed just shoots more than 1000 and decreases after sometime to 500-700 ....what will be the reason??
its the way the engine cold starts, its fine.

i have tata Tiago AMT since may 2018 , Drive about 10k , its main issue Mileage , about 10Km in City and 15 at Highway , visit many time at service center but nothing solution , so avoid this car

Hi,
My Tiago is petrol XZ variant and regarding vibration is there in city traffic and mileage is low in Bengaluru traffic I get only 11.5/L as per meter I drove my car to the office it is 8 KM from home and another factor it will take 45min -1 hr one side to reach my office in such traffic I think 11.5 is ok .

But when you take it highway I would say it is the best car in the Highway I got an average in the national highway from Bengaluru to Coimbatore
when it was new i drove at the speed 80KM/h I record the mileage 25p/li at the after and if you cruise your car 110-120 for you will get 18-19Km/l as per meter and keep the speed on 100 constantly you will 20-21 and again its completely depend on person how you drive the car .

I think Tata Tiago is sold for more than 20000 Nos, by now as per Auto Portal.
Can Actual buyers update on following 2 parameters.
1. Vibration in City traffic
2. Mileage in City traffic/conditions

It's day 5 to own Tiago, started regretting my decision bcoz of noisy engin and high vibrations in cabin. Lower gear driving is very irritating.
Rest Best Looks, features, safety, entertainment, comfort.

Hi am driving tiago XZA from october 2018. im very much satisfied with the over all performance like safety mileage and so far,
but my only concern is that when ever i stuck in traffic vehicle doesnt move on initial accileration . it will will take 3-5 seconds for the vehicle to move. which is quite annoying as i can hear continuous honking from back side drivers. tata is not pretty sure about the problem. but this happens only with AC on. other wise its good.

Hi I am driving Tiago since design and car is good ,but service staff and technician and totally uneducated. They don't know any any thing and experience is Tata is a truck company and they ever make a good car if you have a little bit same then service good Ian very disappointed about Tata

I brought Tata tiago in 22nd April 2018 almost a week. I completely disappoint due to the performance of the car. Too much vibration in hidile mode and engine is produced too much noise. I have poined the issue in salesperson they said test drive is used roughly its not same in normal one. Now I completely felt my decision is wrong. guys pls thing before buy tata car. They improved other futures but fail the importance one(engine noise) spending 6.3 lakhs u can buy other brands.

Hi Everyone,
I Own a TATA TIAGO XZ REVOTRON, XZ Variant since August 2016 (19Months) with ODOMETER Reading at 27,700Kms. Let me share my ownership experience with you All.

1)APPEARANCE: A Good Looking Hatch, A head turner, Front looks like JAGUAR( btw it was designed by Jaguar designers).

2)ENGINE: 1.2L , 3 Cylinder Mill, 84BHP sufficient power for Sedate driven , Overtakes need some planning. Best Driven Between 80kmph to 100kmph , Vibrations are felt though but Bareable.

3)FUEL ECONOMY: I live in a Tier 1 City (CHENNAI), CITY (with AC) is 12-13.5Kmpl Average and HIGHWAY (with AC) is 18- 19kmpl if driven in 100 to 110kmph , 19-21kmpl if driven in 80kmph.

4)SPACE MANAGEMENT: This Car best suited for 2+2 for a comfortable ride. Sufficient Headroom and Legroom for Adults. Lots of storage space.

5)BUILT QUALITY: Well Built and feels solid enough ( way better than Maruti’s).

6)SAFETY FEATURES: ABS and EBD a lot helpful for our Indian road conditions.

7)RIDE QUALITY: Awesome Suspension for our Uneven Indian Roads and Craters. Less Body Roll, and absorbs most of the bumps well. Steering feel is good Enough.

8)ENTERTAINMENT: Best in Class Music system by HARMAN, with Bluetooth connectivity for Music and Calls.

9)SPARES AND SERVICE COST: Spares arent much Expensive , and Each service should cost you not more than 3000 INR.

10)SHOULD YOU BUY ONE: Best Value for money Car in this Price Range with respective to Built quality, features, space Etc.

ALTERNATE OPTION: if you could stretch a little more get the HYUNDAI GRAND i10 , what you get is a refined motor with goodies.
ALWAYS BUY THE TOPEND VERSION OF THE CAR MODEL YOU BUY ,THAT IS FULL LOADED WITH SAFETY AND FEATURES.

I dont think the vibrations would go as its been a year since i test drove tiago and i too felt the vibration on the clutch pedal, gear, dashboard and steering. The sales guy tried to convince me saying that its a test drive vehicle etc etc but i wasnt convinced, I increase my budget and bought elite i20. Tiago is a great product, the build quality, music system, ride quality everything is great, if there hadnt been the vibration issue it would have been maruti killer in its segment.

I have purchased the tata tiago Dec 2018, but little bit disappointed due to vibration issues in gear knob and cabin during idle time.

Still not yet competed my 1st service...any one can help how to rectify this ?

Tata RND team is not doing anything of vibration so for. They are just concentrating on selling the cars.There are many car manufacturer in market doing good RND and resolving the any issue reported by their customers. but ,TATA RND team not doing anything for engine and gear vibration even after a long. it shows the insufficiency they should learn from others in market.. pay 6 lakhs and asking customer to accept vibration

Hi

I have been using Tata Tiago XZ(Diesel) for the past 2 months. Initially I was very happy with the performance and mileage of the car but now I feel there is vibration in the engine. I have been to showroom more than twice regarding the vibration issue. The service center has changed the A Mount in the engine but the issue seems to still exist. There is vibrations when the car is on 2nd and 3rd gears which makes it more irritating to drive in city traffic.

Hi Dharmen,

I have been driving my Tiago-XZ petrol variant since 5 month over 4300 happy kms. I am pretty impressed with the fuel economy.

Most of the distance are covered in Busy Bangalore traffic(many time I got bumper-to-bumper traffic) @ 15 -16 kmpl (AC on) and I had been to outstation and covered almost 900 km @ 23 kmpl (AC and ECO mode on).
However, on urgent move driving at high speed (avg @ 120 - 140 kmph), I got 18.5-19 kmpl on highway. (of course I had to turn off ECO mode)

In lower gears and uphill situations I do get vibration and noise from the dashboard and gear box. Even after 1st servicing the noise do exist.
My car had a bad fitting in the driver-front side panel(where you can find a parking ticket holder). I got the clip replaced and the noise is much reduced.

Moreover, 4 people on board, in lower gears (say 2nd gear at speed breakers) lack of power will tend you to shift to first gear. Ideally other 1.2ltr engines will drive you through quite smoothly. Initially that was quite annoying for me, but owing a 3 cylinder engine, I got used to it.

Considering the price offered with loads of features compared to the competitors, it definitely a Fantastico car...!!!
Thanks for the observations, how can this car can be rated with others petrol variant like jazz, i20, baleno, figo..etc.. what is your advice to go for this car or increase the budget for another make ?

Hi Dharmen, I am riding a Tata Tiago Petrol from the past 2 months. Here are my observations.
Pros:
--> Getting 20.7 kmpl in Highway ride. City its 18 to 19.5 kmpl.
--> Ride quality is good. Suspensions are too good in bad roads.
--> Lots of features for that price tag.
Cons:
--> Initial moving (1, 2 and Reverse gears) vibration is too high. Its very hard to drive in a city traffic due to vibration. Its irritating us. Always riding in high accelerator in city traffic.
--> Idle vibration is also there but compared to Initial moving vibration its ignorable.

Is any one getting the same issue. please update.

after 1.5 months, after first service, the gear vibration increases and i think the speed sensor locked automatically. gear not engaging to the engine after few throttle.
example : goes in 1 st gear upto 10 kmph, after that acceleration over gear engagement suspend.
2nd gear 20 kmph , 3rd gear 40kmph, and 4 gear 60 kmph, and its final you cannot increase speed further in highway. when you push the accelerator the engine engagement to the gear suspend. vehicle comes to idle. check engine symbol glows.
what i have to do help me.

I own a TATA TIAGO PETROL from the past 3 odd months and i have just got it serviced from the service center.(2nd free service).
Its pretty disappointing that the technicians are unable to resolve to vibration problem that the car faces during idle.(Neutral with no input on the accelerator).
The vibrations fill up the cabin and the buzz can be felt through the clutch, gear lever and the steering wheel.
Given the three cylinder architecture of the engine without a balancer shaft, vibrations creep into the cabin.
Still, increasing the idling speed of the engine by 500-700 rpm from the regular idling rpm dampens the vibrations to a much tolerable level. On the flip side, the fuel economy is bound to take a hit.
Really disappointed!
Hope TATA finds a measure to rectify this issue ASAP!:(
