Which are good tyres in terms of durability, safety, price?
tyre size is 205/60 R16.

can I upgrade to 215/60 R16 OR 205/65 R16 if this is not affecting car's performance?

Hello,

In terms of both tyre options as given - R16 215/60 is a better upsize as against R16 205/65
R16 205/65 is more aggressive and exceed in with height higher than acceptable limit causing on low mileage issue, Also R16 205/65 is an odd size and would barely get any tyres except Bridgestone B390 in it

But - the Engine Power Output is just 100 BHP - going with even R16 215/60 or even better R16 225/55 tyres is also not advisable.
The performance bound to get impacted, best in Ecosport is the stock tyres which are apt for Indian road conditions - well optimized for performance, suspension and mileage.

Any deviation in it bound to impact in performance, mileage even in R16 225/55 Tyres which has almost exact circumference as stock size
Hope should help !!

Hello,

May look for
> Michelin Primacy 3 ST - comes with soft and yet hard compound to compliment the SUV Dynamics

> Yohohoma ES501 which is designed for SUV Tyre to take on bad roads with absolute ease and has rather soft side walls to control noise levels

May choose any one of them basis price, warranty and preference
Both are good tyres

Thanks fot the information.

I went tyre dealer and asked for yokohama ES501R16 205/60 . He told me that this tyre is good for road grip and safety but it is on softer side. So it will last for about 30k to 40k kilometers.

He was suggesting Bridgestone potanza GIII R16 205/60. He was also saying that for Indian road conditions this is durable tyre with good performance and cost wise cheaper by 1600 per tyre.

Can you please help me regarding this ?

Hello,

Disagree on the statement part that Yokohoma tyre life is 30K to 40K Kms
Infact - Yokohoma Tyres are one known for highest standards of long lasting performance in tyre.

Having said that - Bridgestone Potenza is also a descent option and may be considered as alternate against Yokohoma as the grip and handling levels in Potenza series is close to the best as observed in Yokohoma Tyres

But - one important thing to check on manufacturing date of tyre - check on how to decode manufacturing date of Tyre

Its to be noted that Bridgestone website only shows Turanza T001 in R16 205/60. Turanza is more of soft ride and is more comparable to Michelin and not Yokohoma Tyres. You may have to check - if Potenza G3 is discontinued in size R16 205/60 as the availability in Bridgestone site is not showing in this size.

Hope should help !!

Looking for a good and durbale tyre for Ford Ecosport 1.5 TDCI, stock tyres were Goodyear Assurance and clocked 80 K. Wnat to change any good tytre for off roading. Went to a Tyre dealer for Potenza G3, but he suggested to go for JK Elanzo which he says that its durable and having hard compound, good for off roading. offered 4 tyres @ 19K in total. What is your opinion, what about the noise since its rubber is having hard compund
