Hello Rakshit,

Nothing to worry about, if the car warranty is through. Some basic and simple car maintenance tips - which can be done by yourself also are -

a) Check for Engine Oil replacement: Though manufacturer recommend 10,000 Kms / 12 Month. Still - if you check with Engine Oil companies like Mobil One, Castrol - they themselves recommend Oil change at 5000 Kms - if Mineral Oil & 10,000 Kms if Synthetic Oil - Synthetic Oil not only smooth engine performance but also delivers higher fuel efficiency

b) Check for Tyre Pressure once a week to maintain an optimum level of tyre pressure. Check for Tyre Tread and depth - for having an eye on abnormal wear & tear

c) Ensure you clean Air Filter - atleast every 5000 Kms - Its simple & easy to get air filter taken out & get cleaned. Check out Youtube Videos

d) Stick to Regular Car Service Schedule - as mentioned in Service Booklet. Ensure Alignment, Balancing, Fluid (Brake / Coolant) Change, Filter Change are done as per recommended service schedule.

e) Its best to drive steadily and not put undue pressure on car by jacking up speed or brake down heavily while driving. Its best to change Gear to 5th Gear on attaining speed of 40 to 45 Km/hr. Have the pleasure and enjoy fun of drive.
Ideal Gear Shifts :
Initial Start till 10 Km/hr : 1st Gear
2nd Gear on attaining speed of 10 to 12 Km/hr
3rd Gear on attaining speed of 20 to 25 km/hr
4th Gear on attaining speed of 30 to 35 km/hr
5th Gear at best on attaining speed of under 45 Km/hr

This will induce best fuel efficiency. Many people often drive on 4th gear - by not changing to 5th gear on higher speeds - leads to low fuel mileage.
