With 2015 on End – having major events in Automotive Space – Highest Ever Recalls, Volkswagen Emission Device Software, NGT Tribunal action on Pollution and Imposing Ban on Diesel Cars, Higher Awareness of Build Quality and Safety Features in Cars – Automotive Space is full of Action.

To Applaud the Best Makers Investing in providing Cars, Innovation, Safety and providing cars with lowest ownership cost and reliability
Here are 2015 Awards for
> "MyCarHelpline: Manufacturer of the Year"
> "MyCarHelpline: Car of the Year"
> "MyCarHelpline: Innovation of the Year"
> "MyCarHelpline: Best Build Quality of the Year"
> "MyCarHelpline: Cars for Indians"

Manufacturer of the Year – Maruti Suzuki – To introduce in ABS and Dual Airbags as Safety Features right from Base Model onwards (either as Optional or Standard Feature) in Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Swift, Swift Dzire, Ertiga, Ciaz, Baleno, S Cross

Also – in 2016 – its expected that Manufacturer will likely introduce in Safety features across its Entire Model range including Alto, Alto K10, Wagon R from Base Model Onwards. What we look forward now in 2016 - whether same International Build Quality and Top of Line Safety with 7 Airbags as offered by Suzuki is offered for Indian markets.

Car of the Year – Hyundai Creta – The Way Hyundai Creta has wiped off competition and letting other Manufacturers know that SUV can be Stylish, Full of Features and yet can be loaded with Top Notch Refinement has blown competition away. Top End Model with 6 Airbags, ESP, Traction Control speaks a lot about future models to be equipped with top of line safety

Hyundai Creta already has 2 to 4 month waiting across model range and is hot favorite against Indian Buyers seeking Premium Class, Features, Style, Power

Innovation – Renault Kwid with its SUV like Stance Design, 7 Inch AVN, 300+ Litre Boot Space and yet offering in package price of Entry Hatchback Car speaks volumes about the innovation, Design and R&D done to cater to entry segment car. Output result is the fact that Renault Kwid is attracting waiting of over 8 month on its variants

Best Build Quality in Sub 10 Lakh Segment – Kudos to our Domestic Makers – Mahindra and Tata Motors and Old Time Favorite Fiat – Fiat Punto Evo (Hatch), Avventura (Corss), Mahindra TUV300 (Compact SUV), Tata Zest (Compact Sedan), Fiat Linea (Sedan) remains as our Top Pick in Build Quality Factor. The Thud, Build appeal gives a feel of Stronger Macho Factor than the thin sheets now been adopted by some makers.

Most Economical Maintenance Cost – No – its not Maruti Suzuki or Hyundai rather Toyota creating a benchmark with Maintenance Cost and Reliability. For Indians - apart from Style, Maintenance, Power is equally important is the Maintenance Cost

With Lifetime (1.5 Lakh Kms) replacement interval of Coolant, Diesel Fuel Filter, Gear Transmission Oil and Long 40000 Kms replacement Interval of Air Filter, Brake Fluid along with recommendation of Mineral Oil – Toyota Etios, Liva, Innova, Corolla Altis, Fortuner – remains as pick in Hatch, Sedan, MPV, Executive Sedan and High end SUV Segment as the most economical cars to maintain in India.

Kudos to Hyundai for CRETA!!

I initially thought Ford might be the manufacturer of the year with the launch of Figo and Aspire (segment first six airbags and other safety features). But they compromised on build quality. Honda Jazz should have been the best in premium hatchback. The pricing took a dip.

Unfortunately the best premium build and handling car "S-Cross" is no where. Looks matter in INDIA always, everywhere!!!
