Tata Altroz Positives, Negatives Explained. Buy or Reject from Buyer Perspective

Tata Altroz Positives and Negatives Explained in Detail including Engine, Features, Space, Performance. Key Factors from Buyer Perspective to buy or Reject Altroz

Tata Altroz

Tata Motors introduced in 7 Models as part of New Generation Models from 2014 namely

  • Zest
  • Bolt
  • Tiago
  • Tigor
  • Nexon
  • Hexa
  • Harrier

and now is the turn of Tata Altroz which is due for launch by January 2020 in Indian Market. Although is Bolt a big flop for market with double digit sales and Zest sales too fell to sun 500 Units (as against Segment having 25,000 Unit Sales)

Even Hexa Existing 2.2 Litre Diesel Engine wont be upgraded to BS6 Compliance by March 2020, and most likely can take a time in which we may see Hexa name to be removed from New Car Section in 2020

Its critical for Tata Altroz to be successful. so here are what are key Positives and Negatives of Tata Altroz

Positives of Tata Altroz

  • Tata Impact 2.0 Design Philosophy with Sweep Back Headlights is what catching. Boomerang Side Window design with Sloping Element is interesting. The rear design can look impressive with Blackout Tail Lights.
  • BS6 Compliant Petrol and Diesel Engine with all new Improved ALFA Platform right from day 1 been introduced in all new Tata Altroz
  • 5 Star Safety Rated Nexon also to be based on this new ALFA Platform. No Compromises on Build Quality of Altroz. Expect upcoming Altroz also to be new benchmark in Build Quality in Premium Hatchback Segment as what Nexon in Compact SUV Segment known for
  • Widest Car in Premium Hatchback Segment. Doors Open Wide Open, Ingress and Egress is easier as is a taller car against Baleno and I20. For 3 Average Size Adults can sit in terms of Shoulder room space
  • Tata Cars are second to none in terms of Handling, Suspension. This New Platform ALFA handles well with top notch suspension dynamics.
  • Altroz USP is Powerful 1.5 Litre Engine (as what seen in Nexon in slight detuned state) with 90 PS Power and 200 NM Torque making it reasonable competitive in Performance. Also would the Diesel Engine be also available in Multi Drive Mode – Eco, City and Sport Mode for those who love adjusting power and fuel efficiency basis drive conditions

Tata Altroz Negatives

  • 1.2 Litre, 3 Cylinder Petrol Engine is what the sore Point here. Where Competition Cars like Maruti Baleno, Hyundai Elite I20 and Honda Jazz up for sale in 4 Cylinder Engine. The refinement, NVH Levels and possibly pickup too can make a big difference
  • As what was seen a big miss in Harrier too at time of launch, seems same replicated in Altroz even. No Automatic Transmission been introduced in Altroz at the time of Launch. Although to disclaim, a DCT Automatic expected in future but in this fast moving world, if the sales do not pick at the start then would be difficult for a brand to get things going in future
  • Been the Wheelbase slight short against Elite I20, Baleno and Jazz and as what the car been unveiled in Geneva Motor Show – the rear seat legroom may not be to the best
  • Rear side window glass area turns smaller and may not be well like by Senior Members of family sitting on rear seat as this may turn to be slight claustrophobic.
  • If one speak of Resale Value Factor, Reliability, After Sales Service Network well in that case some how Tata Motors still need to catch up
  • Although Tata Altroz Exteriors looks very impressive, but in Interiors fit and Finish and Aesthetics - it still needs a scope for lot of improvement
