Nissan Updates Micra 2018 with New Features, Changes, Prices

Nissan India updates Micra and Micra Active 2018 with New Features, Improved Safety with Dual Airbags as Standard and 6.2 Inch Touchscreen Multimedia AVN

Nissan India Updates Micra and Micra Active with New Features

Nissan India updates Micra Active and Micra 2018 with Safety Features as base Standard. Some New Features and updates been done to Micra Edition

a. Now gets Dual Airbags, Reverse Park Sensor, Speed Warning Indicator, Driver Seat Belt Warning Indicator as Base Standard across all Models of Micra Active and Micra

b. 6.2 Inch Touchscreen AVN with Phone Mirroring added as Feature in Top End Micra XV Model. Also the XV Model now gets Nissan Connect System along with Turn Indicator on ORVM

c. Rear View Camera and Rear Spoiler also added as exclusive Feature in Micra XV CVT Automatic

Surprisingly, ABS EBD and Brake Assist still made a part of Luxury as its restricted to only Top End of Micra Active XV Model. While in regular Micra - the feature is not available in XL Option Diesel. So if considering a car with Safety Features - you should look at - Micra Active XV Top Model, Micra CVT Automatic and Micra XV Diesel.

All this comes with a Price hike as Micra Active prices increased by Rs 30000 and now starts from Rs 5.03 Lakh to Top End Model Variant now at Rs 5.98 Lakh as Ex-showroom Price Delhi

The Regular Micra prices increase from Rs 30000 to Rs 33000 as the price range now begins from rs 6.42 Lakh for Micra XL CVT and range topping Micra XV Diesel now cost at Rs 7.9 Lakh.

Is Nissan Micra Value Price now

Starting with Micra Active - although its a welcome move to have Dual Airbags as Standard. The Top Model yes now gets Touchscreen AVN

But restricting ABS, EBD only in Top End Model and pricing the Top End at Rs 5.98 Lakh makes the car enter in direct competition to cars like Elite I20 Magna and Maruti Baleno Delta - been 4 cylinder Engine with more Power, More Space as against 3 Cylinder engine with mere 67 BHP of Micra Active.

For Regular Micra - the CVT thankfully now gets ABS, EBD and Dual Airbags as standard. But Pricing Micra XV CVT Top Model at Rs 7.62 Lakh and 7.9 Lakh again makes the car overlap in Premium Hatchback - Baleno, I20 and to an extent Honda Jazz also.

To our view - the best Value buy Variant remains in Micra XL CVT at Rs 6.42 Lakh and having well equipped features. Rest for other variants - there remains a question mark.

Hello sir,
I am planning to buy a car within an ex-showrom price bracket of around 9 lakh. My foremost requirements for the car are
1. Performance , since I will drive mostly on weekends, so petrol car will be preferred.
2. Safety and build quality.
3. Good seat comfort mostly front seats as it will be self driven.
4 . And mileage ( 11-12 in city and 15-16 in highway will be ok)
I have short listed a few car like Honda jazz,Honda WRV, VW Polo GT Tsi (although little above my budget), Nissan Micra Active (facelifted version)
Also pls suggest shall I go for a CVT or Manual or DSG? I have read that the DSG gearbox are very expensive and high on maintenance. And CVT will have rubber band effect which will dampen the performance of the car.
Pls suggest and if u can add any other car to my list it will be great.
