Maruti Suzuki Engine Oil Guide

Engine Oil is a key Critical component for Long Lasting Engine Performance along with Refinement and Smooth Driving Output. The Pickup, Handling and Performance Pep of the car much depends on Engine and its recommended to

» Replace Engine Oil either based on Kms

» Replace Engine Oil either based on Time Usage

as which ever earlier

Oil Thickness and Aroma are at best when replaced. Its to be noted that Oil - with usage and time shelf as suggested - there is a high probability that Molecules tends to breakup over period of time and oil tends to be thinner beyond its shelf life (and if continued) leads to friction of engine components with faster wear & tear.

Thus one should not extend in Engine Oil replacement beyond a year even if the desired Kms are not achieved

Although Maruti Suzuki Recommends 0W-20 Engine Oil for Petrol Engines and 5W-30 Engine Oil for Diesel Engines i.e Alto K10, Celerio, Wagon R, Stingray, Swift Petrol, Swift Dzire Petrol, Ertiga Petrol and Ciaz Petrol for 0W/20 and 5W/30 for Diesel Engines of Swift, Dzire, Baleno, Brezza, Ciaz, Ignis, S Cross DDIS 200

Benefit of 0W/20 Engine Oil & 5W/30 Engine Oil

» Recommended for use in Colder Driving Conditions - Ideal for Winters as the Oil is Lighter

» Offers Better Performance with Lesser Friction in Engine. Leads to One Attempt Ignition Start

» Lesser Sludge Deposit and Better Engine Performance Output

try 5w-40 full synthetic idemitsu on amazon.
5w-40 is good for diesel because it takes good heat too.

I was completely unaware of the engine oil grades and by mistake I allowed the Shell Petroleum guy to replace my Swift Petrol Engine Oil with Shell 20W50 oil recently. It has run only 300 km after that. Can I continue to use the car or I shall immediately change the oil to recommended grade of 5W30 or 0W20 kind of oil? Pls guide me asap.

5w30 should easily work. Go for semi synthetic and purchase oil yourself and fill it in front of you. If your car is older then you may not like to take risk by shifting to full synethics so I suggested semi synthetic. Also now a days people prefer 0w20 in maruti modern petrol cars for better engine performance.

a big question - I have Ciaz Diesel Delta. When I change the engine oil at Shell Petrol Pump outlet, entire 4 ltr can gets easily poured into the engine. however when i go to Maruti service center they only put 3.1 ltr engine oil. why is it so? if the engine capacity is 3.1 or 3.2 ltrs howcome 4 ltr engine oil is easily getting in?

Pls avoid overfilling since it may result in engine oil leakage. I had it in my manza (same engine as that of yours). By the way 4 ltrs is total capacity it can hold but 3.2 ltrs is optimal capacity as per engine and fuel injector so do not worry if you have overfilled it. Else you can go to local mecanic and ask him to waste/remove 600 ml oil so that you get around 3.3 to 3.4 ltr in your engine.

I have Swift dzire vxi 2016. My owner manual recommended oil is 0w20. During last service ie. 40,000kms service center used 0w40 oil which is Mobil Full Synthetic oil. Should I revert back to manual specific or shall I continue using it?

Initial number i.e. 0w is same. Higher second number means better performance when engine is hot i.e. matches to Indian conditions. 0w40 is one of the best oil you can use. But pls check engine for any leakage.
