I don't know about Baleno . But I have own honda jazz diesel sv mt . Advantages Huge space . Behind seat height and legroom are fair . Comfortably can sit 3 person without so much problem . Boot space more enough . Driving in city without change gear can move slowly . Noise level is ok if u drive 80 to 100 kmph . If more than that u have to play light music to avoid such engine noise . But definitely this car worth for money . So go ahead . So far I use about 14 k kilometer incline hills driving about 1000 kilometer . Still I love this car .

Hi Vikram,
Am planning to change my dZire with the Jazz CVT. This is for my parents exclusively. Dad still loves to drive at 60+. Just need to know, in your opinion, how the car would behave in the city and occasional highway runs. I know this might be repeating what you have already mentioned above, but i am talking abt the driving of a aged man, though his reflexes are still very sharp!

Hi Senthil, I am a proud owner of Jazz Diesel. First of all, there is no comparision of Jazz with Baleno. Jazz is a class above Baleno and other cars from Maruthi and Hyundai.
So to address your questions:
1) Performance: It is the most safest hatchback in India, under 15 lacs.(I 20 and Baleno cannot be compared with Jazz in terms of performance) You don't feel vibration at all even at 180 speed (Yes, Jazz can gear upto 180 - 185kms per hr on a good highway). Solid stability that you can feel even while travelling on curves at 150kms speed. Suspension is far far better compared to it's so-called-rivals. You can a premium feel when you sit in the car and it feels as if you are sitting in a premium sedan. But you feel engine a bit noisy compared to Baleno or I20, but very much less than volkswagen diesel cars.

2) Maintenance : Very fuel efficient. For me, it gives 22kmpl if i travel a 120kmph speed. If you drive at 100kmph, definitely you will get 24kmpl.

3) Service cost: Honda is Honda, so service costs are higher than Maruthi and Hyundai. You don't get small parts individually but as a set of assembly it is available. For example, you will not get a motor is ORVM seperately, so we have to buy the whole assembly set. Periodic maintenance costs are definitely high but the cost are real worthy to what you are paying. Quality is not compromised at all.

You will understand all these, once you start using Jazz/City ( Don't buy Amaze)

I have purchased Jazz and my whole family is in love with it. In case of any other information you can email me at vikramb856@gmail.com. Please call me if you are a serious buyer. Please buy a brand new Honda car from showroom only - don't think of used cars.

All the best!
