Documents before Driving your Car
Check that you possess these documents in car, before driving it on road:-
» Car Smart Card / RC Copy (or RTO Receipt in Original, if its a New Car - RTO Receipt Valid for 90 Days)
» Insurance Policy (or Insurance Cover Note, upto 60 days of your New Car)
» Driving License of Driver (in Original)
» PUC Certificate (For New Cars - exempted till end of 1st Year. For Cars purchased after 2010 - PUC Certificate will carry validity of 1 year. For cars before that, PUC Certificate to be renewed once every 3 months
Revised Traffic Fines and Penalties - Effective January 2021

If you do not have HSRP Number Plate and / or Colour Coded Sticker then get it fast for your vehicle as soon you may be fined for not having same in your Vehicle.
Violating Stop Line
If you Violate Stop Line just before the Zebra Crossing even by a Marginal Extent and recorded on camera would be charged with Rs 500 the very same moment. See this Wagon R - which is not even on Zebra Line but tyres on Stop line is what charged Rs 500 as Traffic Fine and sent as Notice to Owner
Additional Fine as per High Court Order in Delhi: Pls Note - that Apart from Fine as mentioned in Tabular Format below - there is additional Fine of Rs 500 (over and above each Offence) as per High Court Order Ruling - which can be imposed on the Motorist.

Generally one Pint of Light beer will keep the person below the permissible limit of 30 mg - Subject to vary basis the breath analyzer test and is considered an offence for BAC content > 30 mg
Important for New Car Owners before taking Delivery of New Cars
Some of the dealers are selling cars, without registration basis there 'Gate Pass' in Delhi. Do note - driving an unregistered vehicle is a serious offence and even on day 1 - if caught - without RTO Receipt or Trade Certificate, can lead the vehicle to be impounded and fine. Do not get carried away by dealer casual attitude, as Motor Vehicle Act is much beyond same and is a law.
As per Law, Motor Vehicle Act Section 39/192 - only Registered Vehicles are allowed to ply on roads (RTO Receipt serves the purpose of registration) or else with Trade Certificate.

and similarly search for Traffic Police site of your State / UT for Pending Notice payment / EChallan Payment.
Do note that Vahan as Central Site still do not display all challan, so its best to check respective traffic police site of your state or Union Territory.
