Looking to Buy Honda WRV in 2021. Review in the Positives, Negatives of Honda WRV Crossover with Top 5 Positives and Negatives of Car
Honda WRV Official Review
Honda WRV is the only Crossover from Honda Cars India Portfolio in 2021, Available only in Manual Transmission, here is what can expect from Honda WRV
Engine Performance, Drive and Handling: This is the same 1.2 Litre Engine with 90 PS Power as used in Jazz and Amaze but due to higher weight is what tuned for superior low end performance.
Suspension is well sorted and offers balanced ride. With Light Steering, Good all Round Visibility and raised ground clearance of 188 mm - you can expect Honda WRV to offer good amount of Feel, Feedback. Clutch is light side too.
However - the only issue to view is slight Notchy Gear Shift. They definite do not feel as smooth and slight hard with an effort needed as against contemporary Maruti or Hyundai Cars.
1.2 Litre Engine although good in itself on standalone basis but when is put in comparison against
- Venue Turbo
- Sonet Turbo
- XUV300 Petrol GDI
- Nexon Turbo Petrol
- or Brezza 1.5, Urband Cruiser 1.5 or Ford Ecosport 1.5
it feels that Honda WRV is least powerful in lot and other cars are more fun with superior Power Delivery. Shockingly, WRV is still only offered in Manual Transmission and no Automatic Transmission, despite of competition brands offering Automatic as Choice in there range.
2. Space: Class Leading Spacious Cabin in legroom for 5 Adults in Sub 4 Meter Segment. Very Marginal Difference in Seating Space of WRV and S Cross (where S cross marginally leads).
However issue is that Rear Seat Headrest are just too small and somehow been floor set to a higher position, taller passenger sitting on rear seat will find there head almost touching roof. Even no Rear Center Seat Armrest too
3. Suspension: Well Tuned and is a key highlight with 188mm ground clearance. Although is not an off roader, but you will love in Suspension Dynamics of WRV to take on relative bad roads at ease.
4. Styling & Features: Exterior Styling looks Classy. Feels Premium and overall Aesthetics with Piano Black Finish, Fit and Finish all appeals in car at best. Comes with Electric Sunroof as key highlight which most Indians are fascinated at. If you thinking to compare Jazz and WRV then definite basis Alloy Design, Wider Wheel, Front Profile, Cladding, Blacked Interior theme - WRV feels more upmarket.
5. Build, Safety Features: Build Quality of WRV is impressive. However car just comes with standard safety of ABS, DUal Airbags. Yes no ESP, no Traction Control, no TPMS, no Side Airbag and no Curtain Airbag in advanced Safety.
6. Reliability, Service: Honda reliability and 1 year service interval. With a standard Warranty of 3 Years, extendable to 5 Years and anytime warranty upto 10 Years - Honda WRV is very reliable and in after sales service with longer replacement interval of Fuel Filter, Coolant - expect top notch experience in Honda
7. Infotainment: Although Honda WRV sound clarity is good and offered in Digipad 2.0 which offers Android Auto and Apple Car Play but somehow the brightness and resolution feels average. Offered in Multi Mode Camera Set up
Overall Recommendation for Honda WRV
Choose WRV where you seek a Car with
- Majorly City Usage
- Rear Seat Passengers are of height under 5'5"
- Seek Comfort Oriented Ride, Good Suspension
- Good Build, Steering and Handling Character
But - somehow gear shifts are not as smooth or ease as otherwise expected. It needs slight effort and definite Automatic Car is surely missed in here. Had same been offered in WRV - it could have emerged as top pick for Urban City Use with sheer Convenience.
