Ford Ecosport Ecoboost Review from Owner Perspective. Mileage, 3 Cylinder Engine Performance, Pickup, Noise Levels, Highway and City Drive Performance
Ford Ecosport Ecoboost Ownership Review
Ownership Review after driving Ford Ecosport 1 Litre Ecoboost Engine for 20000 Kms
For Highway driving 1 Litre Ecoboost Engine is not the best but the beast. We are thoroughly enjoying its driving pleasure in highways. Even at high speed there are no visible vibrations or Noise Levels
Been its a 3 Cylinder Engine - Ford has commendable job in NVH Levels. Dont expect the Ecosport Ecoboost Engine as what seen in Maruti entry range cars. Its rather a Turbo Charged Booster Engine. Infact I feel to drive by keeping the windows open to hear its 3-cylinder thrumming sound, but on higher speeds creates more air resistance.
Overtaking is just ease and fun and expect the Turbo when comes in play to offer superb acceleration. Also while driving long distance One can easily go on a 600 KM drive without getting tired. Feels very comfortable and you would enjoy every minute of driving Ecoboost is good.
However within city i would still prefer Automatic - had it been available. Ecoboost is awesome on highways and long Distance drive. There is a Turbo Charger - so when turbo kicks in then only it attain the Pep Acceleration feel as against naturally aspirated Engines
Its not the best Fuel Efficient Engines we have in the segment. If you care for mileage then can expect in City Fuel Efficiency of around 10 kmpl and on highways its 12-14kmpl.
In terms of Long Distance drive when we did a return trip chennai-kottayam and back with Fully Loaded Heavy Luggage with Boot Space along with 4 adults , the ecoboost was a dream. It never felt any lag and touched speed of 150 Kmph even at absolute ease
Overall Positives of Ecoboost Engine: Excellent High Speed, Stable Car, Performs quiet well for those doing long distance travel, Can be next love for those who love speed, pep and do travel often with Fully Loaded cars for that higher power and Torque
Negatives of Ecoboost Engine: Not the best in Mileage especially in City Traffic, Its a Turbo Engine, so expecting Lag free on City Drive as against Naturally aspirated 1.5 Litre Diesel Engine of Ecosport or Convenience of Automatic may not be there in Ecoboost Engine
Expert Comments on Ecosport Ecoboost Engine:
Overall Price Difference in between Ecosport Ecoboost and Ecosport Diesel is around Rs 30K
If you drive primarily on City Traffic for more than 80% - Ecosport Diesel can be an excellent Choice rather than Ecoboost Engine. There is absolute zero lag and ofcourse the Higher Torque, Lower Running Cost - makes Ecosport Diesel a more fun to drive car
However - where you can not ignore in the fun of Turbo International Awarded Engine is the beauty by which it can take you for ride on Highway or High Speed. Go for Ecoboost Engine - if Driving Pep is what comes First than anything Else
