I have a 2010 Hyndai Accent I want to get it transferred to Mumbai. The price as per insurance is 1.7 L.

Hello,

Its not the Insurance Declared Value or Market Value which is taken as base
But RTO Officer will apply depreciation on original invoice and calculate tax on it

To give an estimate - 4% to 5% year on year depreciation is deducted by most of RTO, so if its a 2010 Make car and presuming original invoice value as Rs 5 Lakh then for a 7 year Old vehicle - valuation price would be around Rs 3.25 Lakh (65% of 5 Lakh)

On this amount - tax slabs will be applied which is
> 11% for Petrol
> 13% for Diesel Car

Presuming Accent Petrol - 11% road tax will be charged which make it around rs 35K as road tax payment.
If seeking process - check out - Car Inter State Transfer

Hope should help !!
