Hello,

The ground clearance of Toyota Innova Crysta is 167 mm
But - although this is 167 mm in actual this was done intentionally by Toyota by adding 2 bars in underneath so as to prevent higher pricing in pre GST Scenario where the cars with ground clearance > 170 mm had higher excise duty

In real life drive conditions - the suspension dynamics with R 215 mm tyre profile ensure good drive on most of Indian road conditions
However considering it to be mistaken with a SUV would be wrong - as it does not have an approach angle of SUV and neither drive meant for off roads - but for all practical reasons - Innova Crysta can be reasonably good to cruise on most of Indian upcountry roads with ease without scraping the underbody.

Hope should help !!

Thank you sir for your answer. I would like to know that what if remove those 2 bars because I am taking crysta for rural areas where the roads are most likely to be very bad and driving is tough?

Hello,

No - they are tied up as part of car and holds the suspension would not be possible to remove

In case you worried on whether the car can handle these kind of roads - suggest to
> Ask dealer for a day long test drive especially with the fact you investing in 20 Lakh
> If thats not done, can hire Innova Crysta for a day from a cab operator or Self Driven car from Zoom / Miles to experience same

Hope should help !!

Dear Sir

If I upgrade existing stock tyres on my Innova Crysta Zx AT 2.8 from 215/55/17 to Michelin primacy 3st 225/55/17, would there be any negative performance / warranty concerns on the vehicle, which I should be worried of? Will it be a good upsize including a drive on full load?

Thank You very much!

@ Trivikram

Based on R17 215/55, the existing tyre specifics are
> Diameter (Tyre Height) - 26.3 Inch
> Width - 8.5 Inch
> Tyre Sidewall Height - 4.7 Inch

With the change to R17 225/55, the tyre specifics changed to
> Diameter (Tyre Height) - 26.7 Inch
> Width - 8.7 Inch
> Tyre Sidewall Height - 4.9 Inch

Been the Tyre height deviation is around 1.5% - which is well under acceptable limit
But due to width increasing - the tyre revolutions per km will decrease which will impact in Mileage and slight more stiff in steering

The benefit of this upsize is that high speed stability, grip would improve due to relative taller sidewall by 4%
Hope should help !!
