This is how the Gear Box looks and has generally been P-R-N-D. P means Parking, R means Reverse, N means Neutral, D means Drive. Also some Gear Box additionally have S-L Mode, S Means Sports Mode and L means Low Gear Mode.

Needless to mention what Reverse and Neutral means as you already driving a Manual Transmission Car. Below are other Modes explained.

D Mode: The car when driven on road needs to be on Drive Mode. In Drive Mode with the change in Speed – the car transmission system automatically changes gear to give acceleration

S Mode: Sports Mode in which the gears are long, means a delay in upshift of gears with the increase in speed. However with Speed coming down – it remains same as in regular Drive Mode. Due to higher rpm been attained in S Mode, the pickup turns better on overtaking the vehicle. Essentially used on highway drive.

L Mode: means Low Gear and is essentially used when driving uphill on slow speed. Its like the 1st Gear as otherwise is in your regular Manual Transmission Car.

P Mode: Park Mode. The car when reached to destination is stopped and Parked in Park Mode

Its important to note that you have to press shift release button and slot gear in specific mode as per drive condition.
