Disclaimer
: Hyundai Grand i10 is a Successful Car and has won many awards for best Value Pick. There are several thousands happy customers for Grand i10, but still some are there - which are not happy with the vehicle. Below Reviews are collated from from a Public Platform - where the customers have made complaints. Some Handful of complaints may not necessary be considered an impression for vehicle or the manufacturer

Battery Drain issue : I am one of the first few owners of the Grand Asta. and i was very pleased with the car untill I faced the BATTERY DRAIN ISSUE. this has happened to me 3 times.Had to take help of Hyundai RSA to jump start the car.

I bought Hyundai because of trust but that is where it has Hurt most as no one is acknowledging that this issue exists with GRAND. I would appreciate if Hyundai shows Moral like other companies who take efforts to resolve issues with their new launches - Dhananjay Deshmukh (https://www.facebook.com/dhananjay.deshmukh.5895?hc_location=stream)

I had purchased grand i10 in November 2013 and since it's first month it's showing battery discharge problems. I will strongly recommend not to purchase grand i10. I hav taken it to service station twice in 4 months. And now again Im having same issues.

Now I'm thinking of complain to consumer forum if this time the problem is not resolved. Hyundai is such a reputed company and this type of fooling of consumers is just not accepted. Now I want d problem resolved permanently. They just charge ur car battery and give it back. And then it's d same problem after 5 days. Tomorrow I'm taking my grand i10 to service station for d 3 time in 4 months. Please think well before u finalize on this car. U certainly don't want to spend 2 days of every month going to service station.

I bought Hyundayi Grand I10 on 5- Nov - 2013 and on 15 Nov 2013 from KGC Motors , Patiala. Its tyre burst out on 18 nov - 2013 on any NH1 High way . They told me that they will replace the tyre but its 28 mar -2014 till now no solution is provided and they said purchase the tyre they will pay the money . i purchased the tyre and gave them the bill but still no solution .....

Once the car is purchased no one will even pick up or call u back .. I contacted HEad office chandigarh with mr. jamalludin and miss. seema but they also fool me by attending my call and saying they will call me back from lst 3 month ... So i suggest not to buy hyundayi cars no service is provided as customer care also takes no initiative .. They just make fool ... Really a big Shame ....

I have some serious issue with HYUNDAI MOTORS as per following, I have purchased GRAND i10 – SPORTZ – crdi on 09-Oct-2013, bearing RTO No: GJ 01 RD 9427 and till date it runs only 6000 km single handed by me only. Before 3 months from Ahmedabad based dealer M/s: Concept Motors I Pvt. Ltd (Seller) send 2 engineers for some software up gradation, I was told by them this model is getting frequent problem of battery when it is not in use for more than a week times and they did the required job, after that I used the car for at least a month.

Since I was not in town during 16-Feb-14 to 23-Feb-14, so car was not in use for 8 days, and the properly parked car I was trying to start on Monday 24-Feb-14, it was not getting started, even door was not open by remote key, I got the problem of battery and after reaching office I have logged complain with HYUNDAI call center (complain no # 20471) and with dealer also. My car was started by mechanic and after that the car was taken by dealer (Concept Motors) for some battery related work; they have given back my car after 2 days. Because of the above mentioned inconveniences, I am demanding (from HYUNDAI) apology letter for manufacturing defect and replacement of battery, but they are not responding on this.

To get justice I have send many emails to their official ids ( This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) and called them also numbers of time, but all my exercises are in-vain. (My complain no is: 1#681952349) During conversations with many of their representatives, I got the information that this kind of complain they are getting from all the initial buyers of GRAND-i10, and it was some software issues during the manufacturing time.

Now my point is that if the company is already aware about the manufacturing defect, so why can’t they apologies for the same to the customers, to whom they sold such defective cars, and replacement of new battery, since the old one has got some problems. Seeking your kind support to take up my complain with HYUNDAI Motors; doing this you can also indirectly do the justice with many of such customers those who have bought defected cars from HYUNDAI Motors. Battery discharge problem in grand i10. I have purchased grand i10 n 6 october, and just after 1 week battery was exhausted. I took it to the service station, and they have just charged the battery and the car was returned back to me after 2 days. And I was told now its fine.

And just after another 1 month, same problem was encountered, and again the dealers started giving funny excuses, as if I dnt know about the cars. I have gone through many online forums, and there are thousands of customers who are facing the same problem.

Now its high time, iam fed up with all this funny excuses given by servixe centres. Tomorrow I will b submitting back my car to sas service centre and on monday I will be knocking the doors of counsumer forum. I want my car should be replaced or its problem should be resolved. Very bad experience I had . Sorry to say but its the real story. You can reach me on 08853712243 This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

I purchased Grand I10 from Mahadev Hyundai, Faridabad. With in warranty period the turbocharger failed got it replaced. now within 60000 KM the engine has become weak. emitting huge black smoke means burning engine oil, power got reduced. surging, not at all satisfactory. The service center says engine has become weak, needs it's overhauling.
It is very disappointing that within 60000 KM engine needs overhauling. Due to defective piston ring engine has become weak. But Hyundai is saying the warranty is over hence customer has to bear the cost. Very poor attitude in handling customer's genuine issues.

Hi
I purchaged grand i10 Sportzs Diesel in October 2013 and after 56000 km driving now its Pick up is reduced and engive produce so much sound and smoke. I went to Hyundai workshop and they asked me that the engine is damaged and its required reapairing. after a lot of reviews i coclude that their is a major manufacturing fault in this varient of hyundai which is not accepted by hundai. Now they should accept this major mistake and repair the all model that are facing this problem.

Massive Oil Consumption Problem in my Grand i10 Sportz

Hello

I bought a brand new i10 Grand Sportz car on the 6 May 2015 with 178 kms from GOA MOTORS , VERNA , GOA
After driving it to 4800 kms, i noticed that the oil level on the dipstick had fallen to below the LOW mark on the 20 Nov 2015. The local service center topped it and said everything is OK.
A Second free service was made at 9556 kms on the 11 April 2016, nearly 1 year later. It seems 3.5 litres of oil was put in. I have a bill for this.

At 14,470 kms on the 29 Aug 2016 , i was surprised that the OIL level on the dip stick was below LOW. A check was made and there was no oil leak from the reservoir. They suggested i take to main service center ---GOA MOTORS.

Now i am told it is due to defective PISTON RINGS. This seems preposterous...how can a near new car with 14, 470 kms have defective rings ?

My knowledgeable mechanical friends have told me to ask for a NEW ENGINE REPLACEMENT.
Is anyone listening ? . Can the HYUNDAI MOTOR LTD please get back to me. Give me a new car with a new engine. The image of HYUNDAI has been dented.

Sincerely

Elgar Desa ( disappointed customer :D )

Update on the oil consumption problem on the i10 Grande
After my complaint of yesterday on the massive oil problem above this happened today

1) Received an email from WROI -SERVICE ( Hyundai Motor India Ltd) , Mumbai giving me the contact number of the Manager Goa Hyundai Verna. They have requested the Manager to look into the matter. Thanks to them.

2) Getting no response, fixed an appointment , and decided to go and talk to the Manager at the Service Center in Verna, Goa . The first reaction with the Manger was that they have fitted the new piston rings, and you can take your i10 grande is ready to use.

3) But we reasoned that this a patch up job with new piston rings on a new car within the warranty period ( 14,470 kms) does not seem right , and oil problem will most likely develop again.

4) We stuck to the line that we want a NEW engine replacement. The manager said this was outside his purview. Nevertheless after lengthy discussions lasting for 1 hour, he finally agreed to write /talk to Hyundai Motor India about our request for a NEW engine replacement. So let us see what happens.

5) Hyundai Motor India should take this case/complaint up seriously, as this is to the best of our knowledge, the first time this problem has been observed on an i10 Grande car in Goa Hyundai Center in Verna . This is a UNIQUE case, and the reason for it must be traced to the possibility of human error at the assembly plant in Chennai ?. The image of a high quality standards at Hyundai company is at stake. We hope for the best solution.

6) Watch for more updates that will follow this problem

Unique problem?! I faced the same issue with Hyundai grand i10 ... High Engine oil consumption: defective piston rings. The car was repaired in August 2016.

Thanks Siddharaj.

Obviously not a unique/isolated problem, which leads me to conclude that Hyundai is dishing out sub-standard i10 grande cars in the Indian Market. If this happened in the Western countries there would be hue and cry , and Hyundai Motor would be hard pressed to explain. India is still treated as a third world nation - anything goes.

I think we should be united and report this to World Hyundai telling them that something is horribly wrong with production of these vehicles in Chennai.. Please get in touch with me at 9890444851 if you wish, and let us discuss a course of action

I faced the same problem with grand i10 within one year of ownership. Service advisers at Goa Hyundai Verna gave the same replies: we have topped up engine oil and there is no leakage.
I'm advising my friends not to go for grand i10.

Hi Friends,

I have purchased a Grand I1o - Sportz diesel car on Oct 12 2013. Till date three services completed and after 30000 kms service , audio system got damaged. As per Hyundai service agents audio system board has some connectivity issue but there was no issue with dash board wiring and fuse unit. Since there was no issue with wiring I request the concern to intimate the audio product dealer to check the possibilities to avoid such issues in upcoming cars. The only way to rectify the issue is buying a new audio system and its cost around 20,000 rs.

my worst experience with New GRAND I10 DIESEL
i bought my car in Feb 2013 and driven 32000 km i had to get its fuel injectors blocked and engine stop with white fume. I brought the car hyundai servicing centre and after checking it , they told me nozzel are blocked and injector didnt work and it took them a week . They were cleaned the nozzel and told that it will work .it worked for a while and now I had same problem now they were asking for complete engine work. My car's engine is making so much noise, some smoke problem is also there and pickup is very much reduced.

I will be going soon to the workshop/service center for car repairs, but i am really not liking this car having so much of manufacturing defect or problems. Even service center people are not at all supportive.

I have also faced multiple defects in my newly purchased Hyundai Grand i10. Within 42 days of purchasing, the car was given for rectifying the multiple defects, which the technical teams of dealer service and HMIL could not identified. The car is still in unrectified state. I had also filed the complaint against Dealer and Hyundai in Consumer Forum Bangalore (912/2014) for selling me the defective crap product of hyundai and for the full refund amount.

Dr kamlesh patel here
I bough a grand i10 sportz diesel and I m facing frequent problem with gear jam.
Company replaced clutch cylinder five times and still my vehicle is not OK.
No I filed a case in consumer forum indore (case no. 397/15).
Now I want to add some more points like-
1. No practical guidance given while selling vehicle.
2. Registration of vehicle usually delayed.
3. Customer is not given priority as they promise.

Hello guys, I purchased a hyundai grand i10 in December 2014 and before the first service,I encountered a noise while braking. When i enquired punya hyundai here at Imphal, they asked me to visit hyundai servicing centre and after checking it , they told me that itnwas due to brake wheel cylinder defect and it will need replacement. I asked for a free replacement and service since it was still under warranty. They asked me to wait for three weeks since the spare part wasn't available during that time. After three weeks, i rang up hyundai again and they told me that the spare part was available. So I took my car to Hyundai again and they repaired the defect that same day freenof cost. But recently, I encountered another problem again. The oil reservior(engine oil) on the left side on opening the engine hood was draining faster than i expected. Presently it is just above the lower limit of the reservior. When I enquired a friend who has the same car model whether he encountered the same problem, he told me that it was almost up to the brim. So now, there s a defect in my car but i'm yet to take it to hyundai.
I want to advise all the readers on this site to think twice while buying Hyundai cars. It seems to be problem loaded and for those who want to know more, you can contact me at my email: thangseldo@yahoo.in
